Innovative Designs

The fundamental concepts of illumination engineering are now having a complete makeover as newer capabilities are being developed with LED technology.  The knowledge we have gained from our laboratory allows us to come up with the best lighting solutions.

Colorimetry

We use TM-30  and Duv colorimetric, in addition to the traditional CRI, to define the characteristics of our light sources. TM-30 describes the fidelity and saturation level of the light, and Duv describes the hue shifts,  With this combination, we can precisely measure and develop the colour rendering property of our proprietary light sources. Our Impressionist Series light source is especially popular with supermarkets because it makes the meat, fruits, and vegetables appear fresher.  The boutique shops like it because it makes the white fabric appear whiter.

Photometry

We offer a wide choice of beam angles and shapes for our track lights and down lights, thus lighting designers can put the light exactly where they want, precisely controlling which areas should be bright and which should be dim.  While the reflector is the most commonly used collimator in the industry, we chose to use total internal reflecting (TIR) lenses in our spotlights to accurately control the shape of the light.    The beam spot produced by our spotlights is characterized by a smooth centre that gradually fades into a soft edge without a hot spot and light spills.  It significantly minimizes glare and has much greater efficacy in terms of useful light.

Thermal Management

With high-power LEDs, it is crucial that you remove heat through efficient thermal management. Without good heat sinking, the junction (internal) temperature of the LED rises, drastically shortening the life span of the LED.   We chose to use cold-forged heat sinks in our products as the primary means to absorb and disperse excess heat away from the LED because the thermal conductivity of cold-forged heat sinks is in excess of 120 W/m∙K, double of the conventional die-cast heat sinks.  The technology can also offer large-diameter heat sinks with tall high-density pin fins which further increase the heat dissipation efficiency and allows us to design high-power lighting fixtures with a minimal profile.
